SISTERS OF KARNATAKA
Watch "Sisters of Karnataka" at IndieFlix.com!
Sisters of Karnataka is a complex and compelling exposition of the unconventional spread of HIV/AIDS through the southern Indian countryside where poverty and tradition bind young women into the sex trade.
Winner Home Planet Film Festival of New York 2010.
Relegated to the lowest caste of society, they are highly susceptible to infection by HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, and have little access to health care.
A unique solution was developed by one man, Shiva Halli, born in rural Karnataka and now a doctor in Canada, to develop clinics that employed sex workers to teach their peers about sexual and mental health and well being. Glimpses of empowerment and dignity have followed since the inception of Halli's brainchild, the Corridors Program.

INDUSTRIAL EVOLUTION
In northeastern British Columbia, Canada, a region often considered pristine, the oil and gas industry exploits the landscape unchecked.
Worldwide, flaring has been recognized as unnecessary and harmful to both humans and animals, let alone the natural environment. Yet in British Columbia, outdated government regulations allow this practice to continue. 'Industrial Evolution' is a shocking visual encounter with one family's experiences in the realm of flaring.

SWEETWATER TO SALTWATER
In the summer of 2005, two northeastern British Columbia residents and their dog Pike, embarked on an expedition that would follow the runoff from their backyard to the arctic.
Entirely self-propelled from the moment they left their doorstep, the journey would take them over 3700km of creeks, rivers, lakes and ocean.

KEEPING THE PEACE
The Mackenzie Drainage Basin covers one-fifth the area of Canada. It is Canada's largest watershed by area, and contains the longest river, the deepest lake and the largest inland fresh water delta in the world.
This vast watershed also contains some of Canada's largest and most valuable resources and industries, however there is no proper management plan to deal with the cumulative impacts on these waters. Some feel that industry is moving much to fast and is threatening the main ingredient for life...water.
